UIDAI permits holders of Aadhaar cardsto change their address and without the need of documents. Aadhaar cardholders can alter their address even if they could not prove evidence of their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily suspended a vital service which lets you change the address of your Aadhaar card's address without a evidence of address.

UIDAI lets people with Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for any paperwork. Aadhaar card holders can update their address, if they agree to the authentication from the address verification. An address verifier can be a friend, relative landlord, family member or even a friend who can allow the Aadhaar card holder to use their address to prove their identity.

UIDAI has now stopped this facility. UIDAI was notified by an Aadhaar Card owner by tweeting that the capability to update address on Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter is no longer available. UIDAI has asked an Aadhaar issuer to advise the user that they can change their address using a accepted PoA document.

Dear Resident Please note that the Address Validation Letter service has been removed until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
